Osama’s Body: A Sea Chanty

RichardUSA, a commenter at one of the premier MilBlogs BLACKFIVE  suggested that perhaps the Navy should have a sea chanty in celebration of their disposing of Osama’s earth;y remains at sea. To which ends, your host has taken the liberty to  scribe some new verses for the old “What Do We Do With A Drunken Sailor” chanty. I thought it was a good chioce, all things considered.

Herewith: What Do We Do With Osama’s Body”

What Do We Do With Osama’s Body.

Chorus: What Do We Do With Osama’s Body?
What Do We Do With Osama’s Body?
What Do We Do With Osama’s Body?
Now that we got that bastard.

Verse1: Wash him down with a jug of Clorox
Wash him down with a jug of Clorox
Wash him down with a jug of Clorox
‘Till he’s nice and shiney!

Chorus

Verse 2: Wrap him up in a dirty bedsheet
Wrap him up in a dirty bed sheet
Wrap him up in a dirty bed sheet
Taken from the Chief’s bed

Chorus

Verse 3: Weight him down with frozen pork chops
Weight him down with frozen pork chops
Weight him down with frozen pork chops
So the sharks can find him

Chorus

Verse 4: Toss him over when we clean the bilges
Toss him over when we clean the bilges
Toss him over when we clean the bilges
And we blow the waste tanks

Chorus
Here is what I am told is a shot of the ceremony ;

Thank you Sir. That is an excellent sea chanty. Now I am not a singer. I can clear out a room fast if I sing but I would gladly raise my voice in a bar to this one while buying a round for the SEALs and their Shipmates in house at the time as they sing this, their newest sea chanty.

Indeed. There were plenty of rounds passed about this last saturday by current and former SEALs at Byrne’s Irish Pub after the Christening of USS Michael Murphy. The owner is a retired Master Chief, so you know a good time was had by all.

Welcome aboard, and thanks for the kind words.

“And then we’ll blow the waste tanks” would scan better.
